This 100% Villa Sarchi micro-lot comes from the famed Tarrazu Valley’s La Minita Estate. Sitting on the ridge line above La Minita’s Estate, El Lilo sits adjacent to Melico to form a kind of hat atop the rest of the estate. As one wonders the well maintained Lilo and Melico lots, you can look almost 200 meters down to the top of the living quarters at La Minita. These areas are harvested well into the end of the picking season – these lots were being picked while we visited in February of 2020! 

The coffee ripened very late and there was some significant damage in the spring from the rust fungus. The ending harvest was quite low, with Beacon securing only 45 kilo. This is a beautiful cup of coffee that continues to get sweeter as it cools.
