The Beacon Coffee Crawl

The Beacon Coffee Crawl is an exciting way to explore our local Specialty Coffee scene. From March 1 - May 31 2024 we are organizing a Coffee Crawl of some of our favorite locally owned, independent coffee shops. Think of it as your roadmap to deliciousness. You might even find a new favorite spot!
To get started, grab a Coffee Crawl Card from Beacon HQ or any participating coffee shop. Cards will be available from March 1 2024. Every time you visit a new shop, present your card to be punched when you purchase a coffee. Tag @beaconcoffee #beaconcoffeecrawl so we can feature your adventures!
Once you’ve completed the card, return it to the baristas at Beacon. The first ten people to complete their cards will get to pick from an exciting selection of prizes (see below for the full list). Everyone who returns their card by May 31 2024 will get a complimentary single estate coffee brewed on the Ground Control Cyclops.
CAFE SAPIENTIA
Location: 706 Lindero Canyon Road, Suite 794, Oak Park

Cafe Sapientia is a hidden gem, tucked away in Oak Park. They are passionate about Specialty Coffee, offering a rotating selection of Single Origin coffees as espresso and pour over. It’s the perfect spot to try new coffees and expand your palate.
Sapientia is owned and operated by local husband and wife team Stephen and Ellie. Ask Stephen for his recommendation of the day. He is always happy to chat about their coffees and flavor notes.
TREE LOUNGE COFFEE
Location: 2364 Ventura Blvd, Camarillo
Hours: 7am - 7pm Daily
Recommended Beverage: Brown Bear Latte
Tree Lounge Coffee was founded in historic Camarillo Old Town by Ricky Hernandez and is run by his son, Matthew. Tree Lounge serves Beacon’s Twenties Espresso, a rotating selection of single estate brewed coffee, and has retail bags of coffee for home.
The Tree Lounge team have transformed the space into a community hub, filled with paintings by local artists. The baristas actively collaborate on community-driven projects and are passionate about their space.
HARVEST CAFE
Location: 175 S Ventura Ave #104B, Ventura
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-4pm, Fri-Sat 8am-8pm, Sun 9am-3pm

We have been big fans of Harvest Cafe since they opened, especially because of their commitment to serve the healthiest possible cuisine from local, sustainable, and environmentally conscious sources. They make all of their nut mylks in house! It is a joy to partner with like minded people like Rika, Rob, and the rest of the Harvest team.
Harvest brews our coffee as espresso, batch brew, cold brew, and pour over. They have a rotating range of different coffees available for each brew method and the baristas are always happy to make recommendations.
PALERMO
Location: 321 E Main St, Ventura,

Located in the heart of historic downtown Ventura, Palermo was the first cafe in Ventura to start serving Specialty Coffee. They have been brewing up Beacon beans since we opened our roasting plant in 2010.
Alongside their extensive espresso menu, Palermo serves up rotating single estate brewed coffees. Their chalk board displays lots of information about the coffee, from its variety to who grew it. It’s an exciting opportunity to try unique microlots from award winning producers around the world.
FREEDOM COFFEE
Location: 364 S California St, Ventura

Want to know where to get the best coffee with the best view? The answer is Freedom Coffee. They are serving up delicious Beacon coffee right on the Ventura promenade.
Freedom was opened by Andy, Holly, and Derek. They are passionate about the importance of supporting the local community, connecting with people, and supporting positive mental health. Oh, and serving up high quality drinks! Go say hi to the friendly folks at Freedom, grab a delicious coffee and soak in the view.
PARADISE PANTRY
Location: 222 E Main St, Ventura

Recommended Beverage: Single Estate French Press
Paradise Pantry has been serving up delicious food on Ventura’s main street for over 15 years. It is owned and run by Chef Kelly and wine curator, Tina. They are a scratch based kitchen, featuring high quality, seasonal ingredients.
Alongside their delicious food, Paradise Pantry offers a rotating selection of our Single Estate Coffees. Each cup is individually brewed to order using a French Press. Paradise Pantry + Beacon French Press = the perfect Ventura brunch.
FRONTSIDE CAFE
Location: 1070 E Front St, Ventura
Hours: 7:30am - 2pm Wed - Sun, CLOSED MON/TUES
Recommended Beverage: Flat White
Frontside Cafe is a triple threat cafe: coffee, food, and ambience are all on point. It is owned and operated by local husband and wife team Charne and Joel Huff. They have been serving Beacon coffee alongside a Chef driven menu since they opened in December 2020.
Joel and Charne’s attention to detail is second to none. This extends from the menu, to service, and to the coffee program. We are incredibly proud of the care with which they use our beans.
ALLISON’S COUNTRY CAFE
Location: 3429 Telegraph Road, Ventura
Hours: 7am - 2pm daily
Recommended Beverage: Bottomless Hot Coffee
Allison’s Country Cafe has been locally owned and family operated since 1984. It is truly a Ventura institution. To go alongside their delicious, nostalgia-inducing food, they serve bottomless hot coffee featuring our Matarredonda Estate from Colombia.
We recommend stopping for breakfast. Our personal favorites are their biscuits with home made raspberry jam. Grab a booth and cozy up with some comfort food and a delicious hot coffee.
BRASS BIRD COFFEE & KITCHEN
Location: 4835 Carpinteria Ave, Carpinteria
Hours: 6:30am - 3pm Daily
Recommended Beverage: Horchata Latte
Brass Bird is the brain child of Carpinteria locals Sarah and Juan. Their motto is “do it the right way” - and they do! From the fit out, to the scratch made pastries, and (of course) the coffee, everything is done right.
For those who like their coffee on the sweeter side, the baristas craft a rotating range of unique seasonal beverages. We recommend grabbing a house made pastry to go with your coffee and cozying up by the fire pit on their beautiful patio.
PINYON
Location: 423 E Ojai Ave Ste 101, Ojai
Hours: Thurs-Sun 9am-9pm, Mon 3pm-9pm, Tues-Wed CLOSED
Recommended Beverage: French Press
Pinyon is a family and friend run wood-fired pizzeria and bakery. They are dedicated to sourcing from local farmers and working with like minded artisans. We love working with such creative, community minded crew.
Pinyon serves up rotating single estate coffees through French Press and Cold Brew. They make a delicious morning treat when paired with something from their house made pastries. Pro tip: check out the bathroom when you visit, it was featured in the New York Times.
The Prizes
The first ten people to complete the coffee crawl and return their cards to our roasting facility can choose from whichever of the prizes are remaining. It’s first in best dressed!
THE BORING BITS:
One card per person. Cards will only be stamped with purchase of a beverage made using Beacon Coffee. Only cards returned on or before May 31 2024 are eligible for a prize. Prizes are not redeemable for cash value. No combining partial cards.
